The Wynwood Community Enhancement Association (WCEA) is a grassroots, community-led nonprofit formed in 2018 by residents, business owners, property owners, and local organizations— such as the Bakehouse Art Complex and Mission San Juan Bautista— to raise a unified voice for Wynwood Norte, the often-overlooked, historic working‑class side of Wynwood.

INITIATIVES

Community-Led Vision Plan: In 2019, after 12+ months of meetings, WCEA crafted a comprehensive Community Vision Plan, outlining how to balance economic growth with affordability, cultural preservation, and infrastructure upgrades.

Zoning & Housing Advocacy: They successfully pushed for the Wynwood Norte Neighborhood Revitalization District (NRD‑2), a special zoning overlay approved in 2021 that protects the neighborhood’s low-rise character, encourages mixed-income housing, and incentivizes the retention of legacy buildings—mitigating displacement.

Public Infrastructure & Beautification Efforts: Beyond long-term planning, WCEA organizes alley restorations, streetscape beautification, marketing campaigns, and community safety partnerships—fostering both pride and ownership among residents.

Economic & Cultural Support: They're deeply invested in supporting small-business corridors like NW 2nd Avenue and anchoring cultural institutions like Bakehouse, all while preserving Wynwood Norte’s multi-generational identity
